    Water Lily Garden
Located at the pristine source of Jellyfish Ting Creek in the northern reaches of Changbin Township, Taitung County, the Water Lily Garden boasts an abundant water supply that nurtures its lush landscape.
The garden is the passion project of Mei Ying, who was born in the Nanxi Tribe. After spending her childhood in Taipei, her love for flowers called her back to Nanxi in 2015. In her family's once-abandoned terraced fields, she embarked on a journey of cultivating over a hundred varieties of more than a thousand fragrance water lilies, embracing natural farming practices that honor the land. The pesticide-free environment has flourished into a rich ecosystem teeming with loaches, eels, snails, Red Dragonflies, Mantises, Water Striders, and an impressive variety of frogs such as Belly-spotted Frogs, Mo's Tree Frogs, Tiger-striped Frogs, Marsh Frogs, Buerger's Tree Frogs, and Little Rain Frogs.
The Water Lily Garden is renowned for its dried fragrance water lilies, particularly vibrant during the summer and autumn months. The process of harvesting, sun-drying, and transforming these blooms into lotus tea creates a sensory experience, offering a delightful aroma and a refreshing aftertaste.
Beyond lotus cultivation, Mei Ying crafts artisanal items using local materials, such as rattan baskets, silvergrass brooms, and Pandanus woven baskets. She cultivates her own vegetables, and raises chickens and fish, embodying a self-sufficient lifestyle. This ethos extends to her culinary creativity, offering guests a unique, menu-less dining experience that complements the garden's serene beauty.

    SDGs:

    SDGs:
The Water Lily Garden champions local small-scale farmers, creating a farm-to-table supply chain while opposing the use of disposable plastics. This commitment extends to active community service and the safeguarding of local culture. With a keen focus on environmental stewardship, the garden prioritizes water and electricity conservation and the use of eco-friendly cleaning solutions to lessen its ecological footprint.
Educational programs about the mountains and seas, alongside professional ecological tours, empower the garden to support the tribe's populations and foster collaboration with tribal members. This collaborative effort opens doors for the transformation of traditional industries.
