In addition to being an art studio, Paterongan Art is a community dedicated to creation, nature, and cultural preservation. Here, everyone is an artist. Working with natural materials like tree bark and bamboo, visitors gain hands-on experiences in the traditional art of textile and weaving. They step away from the noise of the city to reconnect with their souls, focusing on the present and the connection with their materials. These experiences not only contribute to the conservation and development of Taiwan's natural textile craft, but also advance the indigenous people’s wisdom in using sustainable substances.
Recognizing the connection between healthy eating, living, and a creative lifestyle, Guang Weaving House works with nearby tribal host families to provide accommodations for visitors. Helping these communities become part of the tourism industry also helps to preserve their tribal cultural values and their unique historical heritage.
